Visiting Guests to ProPilotWorld- One of our monthly features in our Career Section is out Guest Chat with Industry People You Should Know. Your chance for Q&A with people who can provide you with insight and information vital to your career progression. Just another reason to make ProPilotWorld your aviation communications and information home!

Our next online interview in "TheBoredRoom" will be coming up soon. Our guest will be Ms. Cathy Angelo, Director of Pilot Hiring for Colgan Air, Manassas VA.

Colgan is a code-share partner for US Airways, CAL, and UAL and has been an aviation fixture in the Northeast for decades. They are currently hiring F/O's for their fleet of B-1900s and SF-340s.

For members wanting to take the next step in their careers and looking for the way to do it, Cathy will take your questions and give you important information "Right from the source" when she is our special PPW guest.

We are scheduled to host the chat on Wednesday night, July 26 at 9 PM EDT (6 PM PDT) and something in-between at all time zones in-between. Let's have some great questions from our members and a good turnout for the chat itself!

Here's a sample of some of the questions from our members
which will be asked and answered

-What makes Colgan attractive to pilots? (IE why should I apply?)

-What is the financial status of the company given the changes being made at US Airways?

-What is the long term growth plan?

-What is the typical attrition rate for Colgan pilots, and where do most pilots leave for (other regionals, national airlines, majors?)

-Does Colgan still hire street captains?

-How does Colgan rank incoming resumes and applications to determine who should be called to interview?

-Once a resume is selected for interview, how long is the typical wait to schedule an interview?

-How large is the hiring pool of successful applicants?

-What is the process for new hire bidding/assignment of domiciles and aircraft type?

-What is the hire date of the most junior person? Most senior? Most junior captain in each aircraft type?

-How many applicants do you interview during a given day/week/month?

-What is your projected hiring for the next 12-24 months?
